This project, which somewhere along the line started to be called iTango, has been ongoing throughout my degree. It started off in the hybridised practice unit, when I was thinking about ways of combining creative practices. I wanted to explore action and reaction, combining the real and digital worlds. I was inspired predominantly by the work of messa di vocce…
and thought it would be interesting to see how this technology could be applied to dance, particularly tango since that is my area of expertise.
In the collaborative practices unit I continued with the project, developing the max patch and getting two dancers involved, Gonzalo Orehuela and Solange Chapperon. this is whe we made the first film of itango.
Since then, we performed the project to a tango audience at a festival in Bylaugh Hall.
I am currently working on creating a sound piece that can be used for future performances.
Thank you, Fran, for Thursday night at the golf club. Really enjoyed it - well, I will when I can get my ‘presence’ right! We’re practising in the dining room.
See you next Thursday.
Regards
Trish and Tony Jubb
